SIET has been invited to participate in

Inside Education's "Energy Water Education" Program


July 3-7, 2018

 

(This is a travelling program in Northern Alberta, the program starts and ends in Edmonton)

Join this four-day workshop and explore fascinating concepts and discover how to make science come alive for students. We'll explore how energy and water are intertwined and examine these connections by exploring topics such as: oil sands & in situ energy extraction, watership science, cumulative environmental effects, traditional knowlege, innovation and technology, climate change and more!

This special SIET is led by Inside Education, the program will be a mix of presentations, conversations, and behind-the-scenes tours inluding in situ oil extraction facillitiees and the Fort McMurray oil sands! We will travel through 3 different watersheds over the course of this program and will dive deeper into the topics of interest in the Athabasca watershed. Participants will walk away with classroom ready activities and materials.

If you are a successful applicant * you will receive a full scholarship to attend the program.  All costs including facility tours, workshops and meals are included in the scholarship.
